THE STORY SO FAR
How this little crew came to be.
This is not a business but a passion. Every litter at Ruterfem begins with the same question — is Mila ready, and is everything well?
When we took Mila to our Vet at the beginning of the year, she confirmed Mila was healthy and ready for a litter. Mila came into heat sooner than we expected — which puts this year’s crew on the same timeline as her first in 2024.
On April 15th, the X-ray confirmed she was expecting four, maybe five puppies. They arrived on May 1st — the Norwegian Labour day — a healthy little crew. The current litter is, in fact, a little larger than the X-ray reading suggested.
Last year’s litter was all spoken for before they were born. This year’s crew still has both male and female puppies looking for the right family.

RIGHT NOW
A little crew of seals.
They are seal-coloured for the first 7 to 14 days of their lives. Their eyes are not yet open, but they are already talkative, hungry, and moving around.
This is the quiet stretch — when Mila does most of the work and we mostly watch in awe. Within a few weeks they’ll start to grow into their own little personalities, and we’ll start updating this page with their names, their photos, and the small things that make each one different from the others.
If you’re considering joining the Ruterfem family this year, this is the time to reach out. We don’t take applications — we take conversations. The earlier we start talking, the better we can help you choose the right puppy.
Personalities, photos, and small milestones.
We will update this page as the puppies start to grow into themselves.
Names, photos, and the little things that make each one unique.

how adoption works
No batches. No application forms.
Just a real conversation.
You email or call, and we get to know each other. There’s no form, no checklist — just a real conversation, the kind you’d have over coffee.
Our puppies have to be true family members in their new home. So we take our time. We talk. We ask questions, and we hope you’ll ask any question you have too. When we both feel comfortable, we start thinking about which little one might be just right for you.
Not ready this year?
We keep a waiting list for families who are planning ahead. Send us a note and we’ll be in touch when the next litter is on its way.
